Having a father who was the chief house engineer of the multi award winning world famous Talk Of The South (TOTS) venue in Southend On Sea, Essex, It was inevitable that Ben would follow in his dads footsteps into the world of late night entertainment. After years of revolutionising his schools sound & lighting department (winning awards for his design and pioneering the first use of DMX lighting control, moving head lighting and digital sound processing in Essex educational establishments) he packed his bags and went to University. During his first summer break from Uni, he returned to Essex to help with the re-launch of the now Talk nightclub and bar complex. Becoming the main resident of the brand new VIP bar, he learn't many of the key skills he now uses to entertain crowds week in, week out. Following the departure of the lighting operator of Talk nightclub, Ben took control of the lighting and visual systems of the main venue as well as providing warm up entertainment and built his reputation within the industry as one of the most dynamic, exciting VJs in the country, combining lighting, video, projection and sound to create a totally immersing sensory experience.Lighting: 4 x Vari*Lite VL2202, 8 x Clay Paky GS1, 8 x Studio Due Shark, 12 x Martin Roboscan 812, 4 x Coemar Comet, 2 x Coemar NAT1200TM, 2 x Martin Atomic Strobe, 1 x Futurelight Dominator II, 12 x JB Systems Winner II, 1 x Axon ShowCAD. After specifying and overseeing the install of a complete visual system (and in later years designing a brand new lighting rig) he, along with promotions manager & good friend Diason (Too Damn Glam) and Mike Glover of ESL Systems, delivered what is now well recognised as one of Southend's most glamorous venues.
